How we got there
Starting point
Tax-filing software that earns most of its revenue between January and April. Traffic fell almost 35% between May and September, and the estimated revenue risk was 40%, over $1M. The site had just over 900 referring domains. The closest competitor had 1,500+.
What we built
A Link Requirement Plan (strategy), based on link data for every URL that lost traffic and for competitors' top-10 pages. Links take 4–9 weeks to work, so we put most of the budget into the first three months. We ran strategy, acquisition, maintenance and reporting for the link programme.
Result
Organic visitors up from 553,759 to 1,242,894. Search Console clicks up from 583k to 1.36M (×2.3), impressions from 12.5M to 28.6M. Annual revenue held at about $2.5M through the drop.
Period
12 months
Attribution
Results came from a cooperation in which links were the main element.
