Link insertions for SaaS and AI products

A link insertion adds your link, and a sentence or two about your product, to an article that's already published and indexed. Usually it's a “best tools” list, a comparison or an “alternatives to X” page: the pages your buyers read before they shortlist.

Because the page exists, nothing has to be commissioned, written and indexed from scratch. That's why an insertion is the quickest placement to go live.

/ fit

When do link insertions make sense?

They make sense when a page your buyers already read exists and your product genuinely belongs on it.

A good fit

  • A handful of comparison and roundup pages keep appearing for your category's shortlist searches, and you're not on them.
  • You need a link to one specific page (pricing, an integration, an “alternatives” page) and a new article would add nothing.
  • You want a placement live without waiting for someone's editorial calendar.

A poor fit

  • The list is paid-inclusion by design: every entry is there because it paid. A link on it tells a reader and a search engine nothing. It's the same reason our filter drops sites with “write for us” or “advertise with us” pages.
  • Your product doesn't belong on the page. The reader clicks, finds a mismatch and leaves, and the publisher removes the link.
  • The page you'd link to isn't ready: thin, not indexable, or mid-migration. We'll say so on the call, and we won't sell you the link.
/ mechanism

Why does a link on an existing page work?

An existing page has already earned what a new one has to wait for: crawling, rankings and readers.

  • It's already indexed.

Google finds the link the next time it recrawls a page it already knows, instead of waiting to discover a new URL.

  • Its readers are mid-comparison.

Roundup pages rank for shortlist searches, so the people who click through are choosing between tools. That's why we require 2,000+ monthly organic visits in Ahrefs, checked against the site itself.

  • The text around it fits.

A link in a paragraph about your category, next to your competitors, sits in the context a link is supposed to have.

What we can't tell you is how far one link moves a ranking. Nobody can, so we don't put a number on it.

/ process

How we run an insertion

  1. 01

    Match

We agree the target page and the anchor with you first. If there's a strategy, both come from the plan.

  2. 02

    Prospect

We look for articles in your category that already rank for shortlist searches, using competitor gaps, category lists and our own publisher relationships.

  3. 03

    Qualify

where most of our time goes

Every site passes the same rules: 2,000+ monthly organic visits, topical relevance, no “write for us” or “advertise with us” pages, Ahrefs DR 40 or higher (a filter, never the verdict), and a screen for link-farm patterns. One failure and the site is out.

  4. 04

    Write

Our own AI tool drafts the paragraph. A person edits it to match the article's tone and to say only what's true of your product. You approve every placement before it goes in.

  5. 05

    Monitor

Live, indexed and still pointing where it should, checked for 12 months. A removed link is replaced free.

“If I open a site and within 30 seconds I'm jumping from crypto to health to SaaS to home improvement, with commercial links dropped into everything, I already know what I'm dealing with — the site was built to sell links, and whatever DR or traffic Ahrefs shows me isn't going to turn it into a valuable prospect.”

Link insertion FAQ

What's the difference between a link insertion and a guest post?

An insertion adds a link to an article that already exists. A guest post publishes a new article. Insertions go live faster and need less writing. Guest posts give you room for a full argument and a page built around your topic. Guest posts →

Do you pay publishers for placements?

Sometimes. Where a publisher charges, we pay it, and it's covered in your price. Placements carry no marks: we don't ask publishers to label them as sponsored or add link attributes. Bought links can be devalued by search engines, and you carry that risk with us. We tell you which placements involved a fee before you approve, and you approve every site.

Can we choose the anchor and the target page?

Yes. We'll say where a different choice would work harder. We push back on repeating the same exact-match keyword anchor across placements. It's the kind of pattern that looks built for rankings rather than for readers.

What happens if the publisher removes the link?

We monitor every link for 12 months and replace removed ones free. That's included in the $295.

How long until the link is live?

We give you a go-live date for each placement and tell you when it's indexed. We don't give ranking or traffic timelines, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

Which of your pages needs an insertion?

Bring your top three commercial pages to a 30-minute call with Andreea. She'll tell you which an insertion could help, which needs a different placement, and which isn't ready for links at all.
