Should link builders go to Startup Community Summit 2026?

The short answer

Startup Community Summit takes place on 21 October 2026 at Concordia Design in Poznań: one day, 350 curated founders, investors, operators and ecosystem builders from Poland and CEE. We are going because a link is an editorial decision made by a person, and rooms like this are where those people are. Readers get 10% off a pass with the code SCS-NON.

Most good links start the same way. Two people talk. One has something worth citing; the other runs a page where it fits.

Everything else in link building is an attempt to reproduce that moment at scale: the prospecting, the pitch, the follow-up. It is useful, and we do a lot of it. But it is still an imitation of a conversation.

On 21 October we’re going somewhere with 350 of those conversations in one room.

What is Startup Community Summit 2026?

Startup Community Summit is organised by Startup Community Poznań (Startup Community Poznań, 2026). It is a first edition, capped at 350 seats, with each group inside it (founders, investors, operators, community builders) capped as well. The day runs from 08:30 to 16:00 in English and Polish, with an afterparty until 22:00.

The useful mechanic is matchmaking. Before the event, you describe what you’re building and what you need, get suggested matches and book 30-minute one-to-one meetings.

Strip the jargon out and a backlink is a citation. Somebody decided your page was worth pointing their readers to. Google has spent twenty years trying to reward exactly that decision and discount everything that only imitates it.

That is why the best links we have ever built didn’t start with a spreadsheet. They started with a relationship: an editor who trusted the content, a founder who needed a source, a community lead writing up the people they’d met. Those are editorial links, and they are made by people.

A summit that puts founders, investors, ecosystem organisations and media partners in one building is, in link-building terms, a list of future editorial decisions with faces attached.

Not through a template. A conversation gives you something outreach can only imitate: a person who already knows why your page is worth citing. What turns it into a link is usually three things.

  • A page that deserves the link. Original data, a clear point of view, or an honest answer to a question their readers ask. If you would not link to it yourself, nobody else will.
  • Relevance to what they publish. A link belongs on a page whose readers care about yours, which is what link relevance means in practice. Ask what they write about before you ask for anything.
  • A specific follow-up. Within a week, send the one page you discussed and say where it might fit. “Great to meet you” is not a follow-up.

What should you do before, during and after the day?

  • Before. Write two sentences on what you’re building and what you need, and use the matchmaking to choose who to meet. Five relevant meetings beat fifty business cards.
  • During. Use the 30-minute meetings to learn what each person publishes, quotes or recommends. Save the pitch for a person who asked for it.
  • After. Follow up with something specific. When a page you would like a link from comes up, check the site before you get excited: traffic, topic and outbound links. Our site qualification checklist is the one we use.

What should you bring us in Poznań?

If you run a startup, an agency or an e-commerce brand and you find us there, bring one of these:

  • Your backlink profile, and the question you have been avoiding about it. It is the input to the link building strategy we start every engagement with.
  • A target market. International link building in German, French or Czech isn’t English outreach run through a translator.
  • A difficult niche. The ones where site owners hesitate to link. That is where process matters most.

We won’t promise positions. Anyone who does is selling something other than links. We’ll tell you what your profile says about you and where the realistic opportunities are.

What do passes cost, and how do you get the discount?

Passes cost 865 zł until 7 October and 1,125 zł after that (gross, per the organiser at the time of writing). The code SCS-NON takes 10% off. International founders and investors are welcome: it is built for Poland and CEE, not only for Poznań.

The bottom line

Link building at scale needs a time-tested process. The links worth having still start with people. For one day in October, a lot of the right people will be in one room in Poznań, and so will we.

Key takeaways

  • Startup Community Summit 2026 is on 21 October 2026 at Concordia Design, Poznań: one day, 350 curated founders, investors, operators and ecosystem builders from Poland and CEE (Startup Community Poznań, 2026).
  • A link is an editorial decision made by a person. Rooms like this are where those people are.
  • A paid sponsor logo isn't what builds authority, and it shouldn't be. The relationships around it can.
  • Turn a conversation into a link with a specific follow-up and a page that is worth citing, not with a template.
  • Readers get 10% off a pass with the code SCS-NON.
