Link Insertion Campaign

Insertions are the fastest placement to go live because the page already exists. That speed makes it tempting to skip checks — don't.

Matching and prospecting

  • Target page and anchor agreed with the client before prospecting
  • Prospect list built from: competitor link gaps, category roundup pages, existing publisher relationships
  • Prospects ranked by where the client’s buyers actually shortlist (not just DR)
  • Duplicate check: the client is not already on the page (or placed there by another vendor)

Page-level checks (on the target article)

  • Article is indexed and cached (not just published)
  • Article ranks or gets readers for shortlist-type searches (best-tools, comparison, alternatives)
  • The section where the link would sit is about the client’s category
  • The list is not paid-inclusion by design
  • Existing entries: each is a real product with a real description (not filler rows)
  • Site passes the full Site Qualification checklist (DR 40+, 2,000+ visits, no W4U, link-farm screen)

Writing the insertion

  • The paragraph is drafted by the AI tool, edited by a person to match the article’s tone
  • Says only what’s true of the product (verified against the client’s site)
  • Length fits the surrounding rhythm (usually 1–3 sentences)
  • Client approves the exact wording, target page and anchor before it goes in

After go-live

  • Link live and pointing at the agreed URL (exact URL, correct protocol, no redirect chain)
  • Placement indexed within the agreed window
  • Logged in the tracker: publisher, URL, anchor, target page, fee flag, go-live date
  • 12-month monitoring scheduled (monthly check: live, indexed, correct target)
  • Removal workflow ready: contact publisher, replace free if dropped
